Doctor’s Choice
A company with over 25 years of experience in rehabilitation and physical medicine, collaborating with more than 95 government hospitals in Chile. It also offers equipment and product solutions that enable healthcare teams to extend patients’ independence and autonomy.

Challenge
The rehabilitation service of the Chilean Safety Association (ACHS), a mutual insurance company specializing in workplace accidents and occupational diseases in Chile with over 2.6 million affiliated workers, sought to evaluate the effectiveness of a hybrid rehabilitation model combining in-person care with telerehabilitation. The goal of this innovative proposal was to increase the operational capacity of the rehabilitation service with user-friendly technology for both professionals and patients, without compromising patient safety or satisfaction.
Solution
With guidance from Doctor’s Choice, the ACHS mutual insurance company implemented the ReHub digital platform in its rehabilitation service to treat patients with wrist fractures, clavicle fractures, elbow fractures, ankle fractures, ankle sprains, and clavicle dislocations.
For 12 weeks, a hybrid physical therapy model was implemented, scheduling one in-person physiotherapy session and two telerehabilitation sessions per week. The mutual insurance company also established protocols, processes, and organized the physiotherapists’ workload to enable them to use ReHub effectively.
Thanks to ReHub, patients were able to perform therapeutic exercises at home with fully individualized treatments. For their part, the physiotherapists were able to remotely monitor patient progress by analyzing program adherence and the evolution of pain levels after each exercise, as well as responses to medical questionnaires that measure the degree of improvement, such as the SK-13, QuickDASH, and SPADI.
In addition, they were also able to follow up through chats and video calls, which resulted in improved treatment adherence and a better patient experience in the rehabilitation service, where 75% reported feeling more involved in their treatment.
Results
Physiotherapists were able to treat a greater number of patients thanks to the time savings achieved with ReHub. Furthermore, it was objectively demonstrated that the use of the therapeutic platform had a positive impact on patients. This was determined by considering satisfaction surveys, responses to standardized questionnaires, patient status, adherence rate, and average number of weekly sessions.
At the end of the study, a benefits analysis report was conducted, yielding the following results:
