Located between the Italian Alps and the city of Milan, the professionals at Rusconi Centro Benessere cater to the diverse treatment needs of a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. Over time, they have selected the most advanced products to offer the best solutions to their patients.

Challenge
At Rusconi Centro Benessere, they specialize in the treatment of adhesive capsulitis of the shoulder, or as it is commonly known, “frozen shoulder.” Most patients with adhesive capsulitis recover with non-surgical treatments, including therapeutic exercise programs.
Of course, the degree of clinical improvement depends on the patient’s adherence to the program. The problem lies in the fact that rehabilitation treatments for adhesive capsulitis at a center are particularly costly in terms of both money and time, but at the same time, exercise programs performed by patients at home, without physiotherapist supervision, are often associated with low adherence.
The goal of Rusconi Centro Benessere was to find a balance between both options to achieve the best therapeutic effectiveness, and a methodology that would reduce the number of sessions at the center while motivating patients to exercise at home so as not to interrupt the recovery process.
Solution
Rusconi Centro Benessere implemented ReHub as a telerehabilitation platform to optimize its treatment services for adhesive capsulitis of the shoulder.
After rethinking their approach, they hypothesized that they could reduce in-person sessions from three per week to one every two weeks if this was complemented with five sessions of independent home exercise per week.
Results
The effect of independent home rehabilitation with ReHub was analyzed over a 4-week period. These were the results:
Currently, Rusconi Centro Benessere has incorporated ReHub not only into the treatment of shoulder pathologies but also into the treatment of other areas such as the spine and knee.
